Bold by nature. Roasted by fire. 100% American yaupon.
Meet Bold American, our darkest roast yet. Made from 100% Florida-grown yaupon holly, this fire-roasted yaupon tea delivers a deep, robust flavor for those who like their tea with a little more attitude.
Our dark-roasting process brings out the bold, roasted character of yaupon, creating a rich, satisfying cup with a smooth finish. If you love the depth of a dark roast coffee or the full-bodied flavor of black tea, Bold American invites you to discover something different: a naturally caffeinated tea made from a plant native to America.
Yaupon holly is North America's only native plant known to contain caffeine. Unlike traditional tea made from Camellia sinensis, yaupon naturally contains no tannins, giving it a smooth drinking experience without the astringency and bitter aftertaste often associated with tea.
With no added tea leaves, herbs, or flavorings, Bold American is 100% pure yaupon holly. Just American-grown yaupon, fire-roasted for a deeper, darker flavor.
Whether you're starting your morning, taking an afternoon break, or looking for a new coffee alternative, Bold American brings bold flavor and naturally occurring caffeine to your daily ritual.

Question
Write content to answer to common questions your customers may have about your products, shipping policies..
What are the health benefits of yaupon tea?
It's a good source of antioxidants, caffeine, and theobromine, and it may also be linked to several potential health benefits, including increased energy levels, improved brain function, overall GI health, and reduced inflammation.
What is the flavor profile of yaupon tea?
The flavor is similar to green tea but milder, with delicate herbal notes with just a hint of grassy flavor. Yaupon lacks tannins, so it's impossible to over-steep the leaves and gives it a smooth, never bitter taste.
What did the Native Americans use yaupon for?
Yaupon was, in many ways, the center of civilization for early indigenous people; it was used culturally as a 'welcome' gesture, medicinally for its anti-inflammatory properties, and ceremoniously as a "gift from the god, Yahola". Spanish explorers witnessed the ceremonial consumption and dubbed yaupon the "black drink".
Does yaupon tea stain teeth?
A major difference is yaupon has a lot less tannins than tea, so it's not bitter. It does not stain your teeth and is gentler on your stomach.

Rise Tea has been a wonderful addition to my morning routine. Can't wait to go back for more flavors!
We make a large batch and have it ready to go to work with us in the morning. Bring the water to a boil, turn heat OFF, add tea and cover for 24 hours at room temperature. Loose Leaf works best for 12 jars.
I would say this is my new favorite tea, and I’ve been a tea drinker my entire life, from Grandma making sun tea on the farm when I was a kid to drinking 20 year old Puer tea from china as an adult. Although drinking tea by the gallon I will say I wish it came in larger bags. It does get pricey as my family can drink a gallon a day.
Of all the teas I purchased this is my favorite. It’s similar in taste to a mild green tea but no bitterness. Nice and smooth. I actually wish the flavor was a bit stronger per bag.
Didn’t see the Tea I wanted on the Web site , so I email Rise and Shelly responded that they did still have the tea but it was in another warehouse and that it was seasonal tea and Shelly got it and sent it to me , Very Happy with Professional service and will continue to buy the Holly Peach Hibiscus tea , Thank you Shelly
I've been ordering this tea for several years now and love it. I love that there are no tannins and it's such a clean, smooth taste. My only wish is that it be sold in larger bags for gallon batches.
I was new to Yaupon and didn't know what to expect. I'm not a tea expert or a super taster, but to me, it reminded me a lot of orange pekoe tea, but smoother and more satisfying. It's great on its own, though I may try it with milk at some point.
I rebrewed the tea bag, and the flavor of the second cup was just as good as the first.
I'm a convert; this will always be on my shelves.
I really like the loose leaf tea. I switched from coffee to tea recently and I like this one just as much as any other. Drinking a tea that is grown so close to home feels good. And I like the texture of the leaves, they look so fresh.
I absolutely love this tea! It provides me energy without the crash of coffee, and is also remarkably smooth to drink regardless of steeping time. I've been using it as a pre-workout in lieu of coffee/additives. It's also awesome that the tea is grown in Florida. Amazing stuff!
First time trying Yaupon! I loved learning the history of it and finding out it could even be in my back yard here in East TN. It could very well become a caffienated staple of my work day!
I started drinking tea from amazon but they were out of stock so I found this site. I use the tea for lymphadema drainage and this one tastes good and I am satisfied I have other companies that offer quality products to select from. :)
I love the flavor of the classic tarpon tea, especially cold! I really love the fact that you can get a very strong tea without the bitterness! I make a gallon and mix it with a little fruit nectar for sweetness, but just a touch. It’s got a great flavor on its own!
Perfect for anyone trying to get away from sweet tea.
I have drank sweet tea my whole life but have tried to ease back on it for health reasons. I cannot stand unsweet tea however because it is too bitter. This tea tastes amazing and does not have a bitter taste. I wish the tea bags made a bit more of a concentrated tea but I love it!
So glad I tried Rise Yaupon Tea! It has a mild, pleasant taste and an uplifting effect that's not as edgy as some caffeinated teas I've had. I love that this plant commonly grows in our Southeastern forests and makes a tea I can enjoy every day. Since I live a little too far north of where it grows in the woods, I'll be sure to place another order when my first one starts running low. Thanks Rise!
